Arizona ISPI's Second Season of 2013 begins September 4th!

We here at Arizona ISPI hope you stayed cool all summer. It's time to drag ourselves out of the pool, put down the Margaritas and get together at  Arizona Public Service Co. Headquarters in sunny downtown Phoenix for the September 4, 2013 meeting.  Join us to talk about Human Performance Technology, ISPI, and the future of our chapter.

Individual and organizational performance is even more important now than it has ever been. It is not enough to just meet the standards, success in the present world requires going above and beyond compliance. How does a leader or a company engage their work force and drive performance to the higher level? Human Performance Technology provides an systematic way of identifying gaps between present performance and desired performance, analyzing the causes of the gaps, selecting interventions and evaluating effectiveness of the actions. ISPI is an organization that can provide you access to the technology and answer your questions about improving performance. Come join us in this important discussion and learn how your affiliation with AZ ISPI can benefit you and our chapter.

Hope to see you there!

Big Thanks to Reg Parker!

We'd like to thank Reg Parker for his talk last night on project management communications. He explained how project management tools and documentation play a serious role from the very inception of a project, to the very end and into those that follow. He also had some great insight into leadership at the PM level and how certain decisions can have serious impact much later in a project cycle.

June 5th Event: Communications in Complex Projects

Communications in Complex Projects can be a daunting task for the Program Manager and for team members. Human performance improvements for project team members can be facilitated and nurtured by effective communication planning.

The Project Management Institute "Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK) addresses many communication considerations that all project managers should consider at the very beginning - the inception and planning stage of their project. This month's speaker Reg Parker will lead a discussion that reviews those considerations and shows how use of scheduling tools can identify critical project needs, "look ahead's," and methods to provide 'early dispute resolution' to assure individual and program success.

Reg Parker, PMP is a Freescale Semiconductor Global Program Manager with extensive experience in managing large capital, multi-year, and multinational programs.

A Big Thank You to Richard Moffa!

Richard spoke at our monthly chapter meeting Wednesday night and we had a good discussion centered on performance indicators in organizations. Richard's experience in the nuclear industry served as a great case study in performance indicators at levels most organizations don't even think of.

Thanks Richard for sharing your expertise with our assembly!
